Econo Lodge Kalamazoo near Wings Stadium

Check-in was awesome. The guy that worked during the night shift was very nice and helpful. The room was clean, but the tub didn't drain while taking a shower so it was like standing in a pond. The bed was super soft, better than any other hotel I have been to. The breakfast is a joke, it's literally two types of cereal (off brand fruit loops and some type of whole grain cereal) and bread with grape jelly or butter. The guy that worked in the morning is pretty rude, we didn't feel comfortable to sit out in the "eating" area to eat our cereal, instead we just went back to our room for the last couple hours we had the room. The checking out wasn't too great, but it wasn't horrible either. There was no one at the desk, and we waited there for about 10 minutes before someone finally came up. The guy wasn't very friendly, kind of stand-offish but he wasn't entirely rude either. I am giving this hotel a 4 star because everything else besides the breakfast guy, checkout guy and breakfast was worth every penny.

It's an economy hotel with above average clean rooms. I was pleased with the rates and amenities. I have a 80 pound dog and the rate for him was great as well. Kevin (front desk) was SUPER helpful and went above and beyond to determine my needs and assigned me a room that best suited my needs. It is refreshing to find people this helpful. These are the employee's that make you want to come back for the next trip.

Kevin and Leah were fabulous. Does the hotel need some improvements? Yes. Is it one of the more affordable places in Kalamazoo? Yes. If you’re a millionaire and you stay here, will you be disappointed? Yes. If you are looking for an affordable place to stop and get some rest off the freeway, And get off the street for a while, or stay a place that is conveniently located on a bus line, convenient stores close by, and a staff that is willing to make up where they lack with friendliness, politeness, and will say hello to you whenever they see you. I would definitely stay here again. Yes, I was on a budget, yes, like everyone else I expected the worst, but this hotel has changed in the last couple of years. Lots and lots of security, police presence, and like I said a cheap and affordable place to stay the night or get off the street and get your head right. Don’t hesitate to book this hotel. Ask for Kevin or Leah. They are wonderful people.

Price is ok could be better for as low class as they are and they need microwave in the rooms had to walk all the way to the office to warm coffee up but not to bad for price

The best bang for your buck hotel in the area and hands down the friendliest staff we've ever encountered at a hotel. Large rooms, secure parking lot, all the hot water and pressure you could ever want in a shower.
